Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. And I am sorry that this is not necessarily feedback or bud reports. In fact this provides no real help at all to help progress the game, like beta testing is meant to. -I was playing some piano at my house, making up shenanigans and I thought to myself, "Hey some of this would sound cool in a game, perhaps Battle Tale!" Which sort of led me to make some more stuff up and finally create this thread.
Now this might be the most tremendously stupid idea you have ever heard. But what if Battle Tale had some background music (mainly in the town) while your doing your daily shopping or hanging out with friends! It might add a nice tad of flavor to the currently none existent music aspect of Battle Tale.
The first thing I would ask if I was staring blankly into the words of this thread is. "How do we know you don't suck Hendo bumhole!" And while I cant answer that with the accuracy that you might expect with, for example a sample of some music, right now. I am currently in transit towards vacation. And once I get there the place I will be staying has a piano inside. So I can play and record a demo. And while alot of people might have very low expectation for this, I do hope you will raise that so that I can get constructive criticism towards making this idea even better!
I have been playing piano for 9 years and most of which have been me creating music alongside my normal lessons I was taking for piano. And while alot of the music I create will not fit any of the current areas in Battle Tale I made one score that might fit with the main town and could add a nice atmosphere to it. I could also focus on making more music for battle tale if Ercon wants me to. I dont want any money or something like that in return. I just thought it would be a fun project to do in my off time.
As I said I could record a demo and send it to Ercon personally or release it in this thread via unlisted YouTube or sound-cloud once I get to my destination tomorrow. But while im traveling there I hope that Ercon might think about wanting to add music at least until the game comes out of Beta (not closed or open just Beta in general) in which he / she could do a full makeover hiring a professional to create music for them
Please keep in mind if Ercon did want to add some music and I did send a demo, the demo will be very unprofessional and very choppy in sound quality. I have an electric piano at home that I use to transfer notes to a computer which can be edited and used in software to make an actual piece that could be used by the game.
I thank you for taking your time to read this, even if you didn't read the whole thing, I understand it was a very long thread. And I hope that if Ercon doesn't get the chance to check this out someone could point him over here eventually.
I'm definitely interested, but I figure piano is too noticeable/harsh for background music, it'd have to be softer instruments. But if you can get the notes and sounds right, then electronically compose it and switch the instruments to other instruments.
But I'm definitely interested, just those caveats have to be addressed. The music should be more ambient and just adds light pleasantness to the game, the battle music I anticipate would be much less passive and more aggressive.
Definitely! As I was saying I could send a demo when I get to my destination. And transfer to softer more quiet instruments on some software once I get home. I am going to be gone for a week, not counting the trip back. So I seriously do apologize for the bad timing. I also wont be able to play as much so please don't cancel my beta.
Are there any examples of instruments or any instruments in particular you want it in. Is there a way I can contact you personally / faster without the slow back and forth on a forum?
