Hey there ecron I have been wandering around B.T asking people if they know about accounts being wiped. I got mixed answers. If you really are then what's the point of playing fairly and what does the economy matter really at this point. Giving someone 9999 gems wouldn't do any harm if it would just wiped eventually.

Do you even know what's an Open/Close Beta?
We are considered Beta Testers/Players and we are supposed to test the game for any bugs, give suggestions/improvement etc.
Why would you expect to be given like '9999' gems to do that? o.O
First time hearing someone requesting something like dis.. boh1

Well, it's very difficult to test -all- aspects of the game without actually experiencing them due to not having enough of currency such as gems or gold. A lot more game material can be tested if users can simply skip the earning part and go straight to the testing part essentially.

Sorry for this extra post, but I also wanted to say a few things I didn't think of while writing the previous post. You really did bring up a good point and it really comes to which part of the game you want to be testing. To test the final product then players would need the required currency. But if this beta is to test the actual earning part of getting items/levels then you're right, and I just sound stupid.

Are you kidding me? Gold and gem only gives you items. And gem, for lottery. You get a free gem daily, so u are able to test the functionality of lottery.
I'm rich enough to test any item in-game except for 3 '999' gems items.
I don't knoe what you're going on about either. You can still test for bugs in-game and other implemented features. You don't need gold or gem to test for bugs.

The purpose is to test how players progress through the game as close as to the final version as possible. Including if 1 gem a day is decently fair for players just logging in, if the characters scale well as they level, if the equipment requirements are decently set but flexible enough for change, and all the other variables that come through.

I'm pretty sure we'll let players carry over 10 items from closed beta, so it really makes no sense to let everyone have free open access and reign to stuff. Equipment and levels also lets me track how dedicated a player was to the open beta, at least if it wasn't obvious enough.
