To protect players' privacy two actions should be taken.
1. Chat not being recorded when battle's get recorded.
2. Notification if player spectates a battle.
Just if something private is being told through chat it shouldn't be able to see for everyone...

don't say personal shit

I think the chat during a replay is an important part of the video. Capturing what people say re-tells the story, such as reactions and discussion and more.

I agree people should be able to know when someone starts spectating, I have it on my todo list.
